The driver package for the new card over-writes some of the dx9 files. this actually sometimes happens even without a new gfx driver in my several years of playing lotro, dx9 files have needed to be reinstalled twice for no obvious reason the 2010 dx9 installer is the better one to use, as it contains a number of dx10 & 11 files that arent in the dx9c installer from 2008. If it is any consolation, I have spent most of the week trying to sort out a sound issue on one of my PCs. That application, if it runs successfully on Windows 10 should have no difficulty running on Windows 11, provided the DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) is installed on the PC, which would already be installed if the PC is currently running your software on Windows 10. I installed LOTRO last week, before the speakers had arrived, so was playing the game with no sound plugged the newly arrived speakers in on Tuesday and had sound - sort of! Talk over dialogues worked, but nothing else!!! All the audio settings for the game were correct, and it was showing the correct audio device - but still not working. Having fiddled and fiddled to no avail, I hit "Revert to default", which returned to the exact same settings I had started with - and all the sounds suddenly sprang into life.
